Green Cleaner FAQs

What pests and diseases does Green Cleaner control?

Green Cleaner controls spider mites, including broad and russet mites, plus aphids, thrips, whiteflies, powdery mildew and fungus gnats. It is a 25(b) minimum-risk product labeled for all food and feed crops, and it fits into integrated pest management (IPM) programs from start to harvest. For best results, spray enough to get even coverage on the plant, including the undersides of leaves.

How do I get rid of spider mites with Green Cleaner?

Shake well, add water to your sprayer first, then add Green Cleaner. For a heavy infestation, spray at 2 oz/gal on Day 1, 1 oz/gal on Day 2, and ½ oz/gal on Day 3 if needed. For normal pressure, spray at 1 oz/gal on Day 1 and ½ oz/gal on Day 2. Cover the plant evenly, especially the undersides of leaves, where mites and their eggs live.

Does Green Cleaner work on broad mites and russet mites?

Yes. Green Cleaner is labeled to control spider mites, including broad and russet mites. These mites are tiny and hide in new growth, so coverage is everything. Spray the tops of the plant, new shoots and leaf undersides until they are evenly wet, and follow the label's Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 schedule for heavy infestations. Use it once a week afterward for maintenance.

Can I spray Green Cleaner during flowering?

Yes. Green Cleaner can be applied during flowering at no more than 1 oz per gallon. Any spray used late in flower can affect trichomes, so spot-treat the affected areas instead of spraying the whole canopy. Rinsing plants with clean water about an hour after application helps reduce that effect. Spray in low light, either before the lights come on or after they go off.

When can I re-enter the room or harvest after spraying Green Cleaner?

Green Cleaner is a 25(b) minimum-risk product, so it has no restricted-entry interval (REI). You can re-enter once the spray has dried. It is labeled for all food and feed crops and can be used from start to harvest. Late in flower, use spot treatments and a clean-water rinse to protect trichomes.

How often should I apply Green Cleaner?

To treat an active problem, apply every 1–2 days, following the label schedule (Day 1, Day 2, and a Day 3 if needed for heavy infestations). For prevention and maintenance, apply once a week. Spray in low light, early in the morning or in the evening. Indoors, spray an hour or more before the lights turn on, or after they turn off.

Can I mix Green Cleaner with neem oil, nutrients or other pesticides?

No. Mix Green Cleaner only with water. Don't add other pesticides, oils, nutrients or surfactants, because a surfactant is already built in. You can rotate Green Cleaner with other products as part of an IPM program, and rinsing plants with fresh water between different products helps. Heavy oil buildup from earlier sprays combined with a strong Green Cleaner application can stress plants.

Does Green Cleaner expire?

A sealed bottle of Green Cleaner in its original container does not expire. After opening, use it within one year. Once it's mixed with water, use the solution within 24 hours. Store the concentrate in its original container in a cool, dry place, and shake it well before each use.

My leaves curled after spraying. What should I do?

Rinse the plants well with fresh, filtered water and give them a couple of days to recover. Some plants, such as peppers, and some cannabis cultivars are more sensitive than others. Test on a small area at 1 oz/gal and drop to ½ oz/gal if needed before spraying the whole crop. Never go above the label rates.

What sprayer works best with Green Cleaner?

Any sprayer will work. Handheld, backpack, pump or machine sprayers are all fine, and high-pressure sprayers, atomizers and foggers are preferred for full coverage. Atomizers use the same rates printed on the package. If the concentrate foams when you pour it, measure the liquid to the line. A little foam above the mark is not a problem.
